Of corsets and scarves by HeyThereISeeYou Of corsets and scarves by HeyThereISeeYou
Going into scraps later, most likely.

NO STEALING. IT'S MINE.

If there is a dress that looks like this out there, I assure you, I have not seen it. The resemblance is completely coincidental.

If anyone is willing to make a pattern for this eventually, I would be most grateful.

EDIT: Erased a line that shouldn't have been there. The scarf and the longer dangly thingies are coming from the back. The piece going under her arm on our left is a piece of fabric. Sorry if that makes it more complicated/harder to pattern D:

And any suggestions on good kinds of fabric for this? I'm at a loss.

Hm... It'd be hard to do it for you, but I can walk you through doing it yourself. It'd really help if you had a dressform... You feel like tapecasting yourself one, by any chance?

That would be awesome if you could walk me through it! And yeah, I can tapecast myself! Just need to get Mum to help me, haha.

You can totally have yourself a dressform, then! It makes patterning so much easier. >_< Just tapecast your body (you know what a dressform looks like, yeah?) and then stuff it. Doesn't have to be any fancy stuffing or anything, just old rags or whatever you have around will do. If you can find a stand of some sort, too, all the much better.

Sweeeet! I'll do that once I can convince Mum to get tape for it! I think the friend I'm making the dress for has about the same measurements as I do, so it shouldn't be too much of a problem~ And I need a dress form aaaanyways. 8D

As long as it's close-ish, you can pad dressforms up to different sizes, to an extent. And once you've got it done, let me know and I'll try and teach you how to drape! It'll be perfect. As to fabrics, I suggest something light and flowy, probably a cotton. Try just going to the fabric store, picking fabrics up, seeing how they lay, etc.
